Hank J. Clarke
I recently returned home to Bloomsburg after spending the last 25 years residing in Schuylkill and Berks counties. I graduated with a BA in criminal justice from Alvernia University in 2001 and with a JD from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in 2008. For the past 14 years, I operated a solo practice in Schuylkill, Northumberland, and Columbia counties, concentrating in criminal defense, divorce and family law, and wills and estates. Prior to becoming a lawyer, I proudly served as a 19D Cavalry Scout in the United States Army, I managed a group home for abused and neglected teenage boys, and I worked as a supervisor in a residential treatment facility for juvenile sex offenders.
I amassed an 80% acquittal rate in nearly 50 criminal jury trials working as a public defender and conflict counsel in such cases as DUI, drug delivery homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, drug possession, rape, sexual assault, and gun crimes. That record led to my being named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 for two consecutive years.
I am also a subject matter expert on the Probate, Estate, and Fiduciaries Code in my capacity as the Solicitor for the Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphan’s Court of Schuylkill County from 2011 to 2021. So, I can guide you through the treacherous waters of drafting a will and/or estate plan and probating the estate of a deceased loved one.
Finally, I have been through the divorce and custody wars both as a lawyer and personally. I understand first-hand how a marital breakup and disagreements over custody of children can impact the happiness and well-being of children and the family as a whole. I will be proud to be your advocate through the darkest time in your life.
