I have been injured in an auto accident.
The insurance company for the other driver keeps calling me.
Should I talk with them?
No. It is our policy at Lepley, Engelman, Yaw, and Wilk that a client not speak with the other driver's insurance company without our presence. The statement you give to the insurance campany is usually taped.
You need to be prepared to answer important questions about how the accident occurred, who was at fault, what injuries you sustained from the accident and what damages you can and cannot claim. This would require us to review your medical records and the police report with you to make certain you are prepared to answer these questions properly and fully.
A misstatement at this early stage can be costly to your claim. Don't discuss your accident with anyone without the advice of your attorney.
